In collaboration with our partners Airborne1 / GeoDigital International, Kasraie Consulting can now provide LiDAR topographical & Oblique Imaging data for public works, engineering surveys, and right-of-way corridor mapping for the electric utility, pipeline, telecommunication, highway, rail, floodplain management and other industries.

Contours

Contours

Bare-Earth LiDAR data points have been re-sampled into 1’ × 1’ GRID and Hill Shading surfaces. Smooth contours have been created within each tile and seamlessly stitched together to create single scale-dependent contour maps for large areas within the South Half of Ventura County. Contour intervals are 1’, 2’, 5’, 10’, and 20’. Contour lines are available in ESRI GIS and AutoCAD formats. Labels are placed on the 10’ contours.

The Hill Shade images from the LiDAR Bare-Earth data points are developed by setting a position for a hypothetical light source (e.g. the sun) and calculating the illumination values of each cell in relation to the neighboring cells. It can greatly enhance the visualization of a surface for analysis or graphical display, especially when using transparency with an aerial photograph. Or they can be used as background images with contours, aerial imagery and other GIS data layers. The Hill Shading image layers are optimized, encoded, compressed, and delivered as seamless MrSID files.

Elevation GRID

Elevation GRID is the most versatile way to analyze ground topography information. Hundreds of kinds of analyses can be done once a seamless Elevation GRID is created for a large area. Within the South Half of Ventura County, seamless Elevation GRID files of very large areas of interest can be mosaiced together to be used for advanced GRID analyses such as Watershed Delineation, Stream Network, Floodplain Mapping, Line of Sight, Viewshed, 3D, and Slope analyses.
